Bristol Hate Crime Services has been set up and is currently working toward a safer place to live and work for minorities such as race, disability, age, sexual orientation and probably most importantly to everyone here Gender Identity. Along with a review group of people from each minority, they have a freephone number to report any incident from intimidation or verbal abuse to vandalism or physical assault. Cases will be dealt with by the police force and with the new scheme you will receive advice and support tailored to your situation. Please if you are or have suffered any hate crimes use the freephone number 0800 171 2272 or visit the SARI website for more info

Voice Therapy

Susannah Thompson – South Bristol Voice Therapy

My adult focus is on voice therapy for hoarse voices and voice feminisation therapy for transgender people.

When it comes to counselling, having a good working relationship with the therapist may be more important than finding someone who specialises in a particular subject.

Having said that, of course, there’s nothing wrong with specialisation!

Pink Therapy is a useful place to start a hunt

    Hi there,
I’m writing to you to let you know about Koi Massage, the (Queer/Trans-inclusive) collective I work with, which offers professional bodywork on a sliding scale in Bristol.

Our project has the specific aims of making massage and other forms of bodywork accessible to communities and groups which normally can’t easily access it for various reasons. As a trans woman I know personally that one of those reasons can be the negative experiences and fear we have around receiving bodywork (and other forms of medical attention) from therapists who are unaware of the needs of queer and trans folk. Many therapists are simply uninformed about our needs, our bodies and how to create a safer space for us to heal in.

All the therapists at Koi are either queer identified or extremely well-informed about queer issues and needs. Our aim to create safer spaces for giving treatments comes from our own life experiences and the desire to see more of these kinds of spaces in the world.

We offer all our treatments (Holistic, Shiatsu and Thai massage) on a sliding scale because we know that money is just one more barrier that can prevent people from getting the support they need.

If you think there might be interest in our services in your group or if you’d like more information about our work, please get in touch through our website – – or reply to this email address –

Thanks very much for your time,
    Best wishes,

    Koi Massage Clinic
